Full Circle Family Outreach
(FCFO)
‘For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;’
The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’
Matthew 25:35, 40
FCFO is a seasonal homeless outreach ministry that provides emergency shelter to the Mountain Area. OEFC opens its doors on Thursday nights during the winter months from December thru March of each year.
This ministry was birthed in the year of 2011 when the community lost a homeless person on the streets who froze to death one winter night. People gathered to discuss what we might be able to do to not allow this to happen again. Churches once again answered the call and we here at OEFC feel blessed to be able to help out. Last year we were able to install a seasonal shower for our guests which is of great benefit to them. A generous donation was made which enabled us to get the shower installed and setup. The county allows us to setup and use the shower during the months of FCFO.
Our desire is to meet the needs of those who need help. We offer food, clothing and shelter on Thursday nights during these months. This gives us a tangible way to show the Love of God to our guests and has opened up the doors on many occasions to point our guests to the Truth of who Jesus Christ is and what He means to us. As one of our guests once said, “I don’t need a hand out as much as I desire a hand up”. As the song writer says, “Everyone needs compassion, the kindness of a Savior, let Mercy fall on me!”
We have many wonderful volunteers who range from overnight hosts to screeners to those who help out with food. We also have individuals who help with the laundry each week so our guests will have fresh and clean blankets and pillow cases.
