DESCRIPTION:All men\, at heart\, are hunters\, gatherers\, warriors and\, in our modern age\, competitors!  With that in mind\, we are having our annual MEN’S RALLY on Sunday afternoon\, August 6th from 4 to 8:30 pm at Pastor Bob’s house at 39550 Giant Oak Road (go to the end of School Road\, turn right and go until you go around an oak tree\, and there it is on the right).  All men and their sons are invited to come to the fun and competition.\nThe theme\, apart from the competition\, will be “Presenting Every Man Complete in Christ” … in your home\, your church\, your work\, your culture and in your world – all 5 to 7 minute\, hard-hitting encouragements!  In between the messages and the fun\, food and fellowship\, we will have competitions (for all you gamers) in the area of horse shoes\, archery\, hatchet throwing\, free throwing\, bench pressing\, football tossing\, baseball tossing and golf chipping.  So\, practice up and let’s see what you’ve got! \nHamburgers and hot dogs\, buns\, condiments\, plates\, forks and drinks will be supplied for a small fee ($5 adults\, $3 under 12).  Bring your own chair\, appetite\, but most of all\, a good attitude and be ready for some manly challenge and fun!  Prizes will be awarded to winners\, as well as 2nd and 3rd places\, in age-graded competitions.  So come prepared for some worship\, competition\, fellowship and exhortation from God’s Word.  Oh yeah\, and some serious fun!  Bring a friend!  Bring a man!  Be a man!

DESCRIPTION:On Friday night\, August 12th we will be having our annual Missions Banquet.  The event will begin at 6:30 pm and end at approximately 8:30 pm.  Our speakers are working in the Middle East in the area of education and strengthening churches. \nWe will also share about a possible short-term missions trip to Chile\, as well as take an offering for our Missions Fund\, which is used for that purpose\, among other things. \nThe venue will be casual and we will be sharing a potluck dinner together\, with the theme being international dishes.  So\, bring your favorite Mexican or Italian or Russian or Jewish or ? dish!  A to M bring a main dish\, N to S bring a salad (tabouli?)\, and T to Z bring a dessert (tiramisu?).  Drinks and utensils will be provided. \nSo\, if you want to know some of what God is doing in the Middle East\, and hear about possibly getting involved in missions yourself\, see you at the banquet!  That’s Friday night\, August 12th from 6:30 to 8:30.

DESCRIPTION:The theme for the National Day of Prayer 2016 is\n Wake Up America\n… emphasizing the need for individuals\, corporately and individually\, to return to the God of our Fathers in reverence for His Holy Name. \nThe Scripture this year is Isaiah 58:1a:  “Shout it aloud\, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet.” \nThursday\, May 5th\, we will be hosting a National Day of Prayer gathering from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.\nThe National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May\, inviting people of all faiths to pray for our nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Since its inception\, this day has continually united Americans from all socio-economic\, political\, and ethnic backgrounds in prayer while also encouraging personal repentance and righteousness in the culture.
