Ray Castro

Associate Pastor

Pastor Ray, a graduate of California Baptist University, has served the Lord in fulltime ministry since 1971. Prior to coming on staff at OEFC in October 2005, his most recent pastorate was at Peoples Church in Fresno, California where he served for 15 years as associate pastor in the areas of Pastoral Care and Evangelism.

While at Peoples Church, Pastor Ray became extensively involved in Evangelism Explosion International, and since 1981 has taught E.E. Leadership Clinics in Mexico, Central and South America, Asia, Europe, Eurasia and North America. On January 1, 1994, he began working with Evangelism Explosion on a full time basis, focusing his ministry in Latin America.

In 1998, Pastor Ray was named to the position of Vice President for International Training. In November 2000, EE named Pastor Ray as the Vice President for North American Ministries.

Other pastoral experience includes serving as senior pastor in Riverside, CA at Cypress Avenue Baptist Church and in Fresno, CA at El Encino Baptist Church. Pastor Ray and his wife, Sharon, have three married children and four grandchildren.

Pastor Ray and Sharon have been a part of the OEFC fellowship since 1994. Their partnership in ministry for over 35 years has been a joy. Pastor Ray is blessed and encouraged by the passion that Sharon has for prayer and ministry to the Body of Christ, as well as her partnership with him in training believers to witness effectively for Christ.
