Craig Shigyo

Student Minister

Craig Shigyo grew up in Fresno where in his senior year of high school he experienced God calling him out of darkness into His marvelous light. He was blessed with two friends at school who first asked and then convinced him to go to church. It was during that time when Craig repented from his old life and gave himself to follow Christ as his Lord, fully trusting God with his life and what Christ accomplished on the cross. 

While in college at UC San Diego, Craig was involved in ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ, as well as Here’s Life Inner City, Los Angeles. After graduation he spent time in ministry in the Middle East and then working with students at Calvin Crest Conferences. 

Since coming on staff as youth pastor in 2008, Craig oversees the Junior High and High School programs where he encourages the students to fix their eyes on Jesus, "the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2)."

Craig and his wife Amanda met at the college and career ministry of OEFC and were married at the church in 2010. Amanda serves alongside Craig in Student ministries, working especially with the junior high group. It is truly a joy for Craig to be able to serve alongside his wife Amanda who has such a heart for the Lord and His people.

Currently, Craig is a also a student at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, studying towards a Masters of Divinity degree in Pastoral Studies.
